The Education Collaborative Partnership

Bells University of Technology is listed among the member institutions of The Education Collaborative, which was founded by Ashesi University. The Education Collaborative spearheads a model of collective engagement that promises to significantly reshape higher education outcomes for students through a network approach that fosters trust and collective commitments among higher education leaders and stakeholders.

Network Scope and Impact

In the two years since its inception, the Education Collaborative at Ashesi has reached 25 institutions, engaged 201 teachers, leaders and other higher education stakeholders, and directly impacted over 2,600 students through the implementation of new techniques and strategies. Twelve institutions have been engaging across campuses in faculty training, mentoring with Ashesi, research partnerships, and sharing new teaching and learning technology.

Focus Areas of Collaboration

The Education Collaborative operates across several key focal areas that would benefit both institutions’ ICT and educational development:

  1. Graduate Employability – Building partnerships with industry and establishing effective systems for career development of students from entry to alumni.
  2. Entrepreneurship Development – Implementing methods to enable institutions to have the tools and know-how to create and sustain systems that nurture creative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit in students.
  3. Faculty Development and Research – Building institutional capacity through faculty training and research and development across multiple disciplines.
  4. Ethics and Leadership – Programs tailored to the African context that empower individuals and communities for ethical action, empathy, teamwork, and leadership
