6TH ANNUAL COUNSELLING SEMINAR SERIES 

The 6th Annual Seminar Series, organized by the Counselling Unit of Bells University of Technology, Ota, with the aim to help students and staff build mental alertness and psychological stability to face academic and life challenges.

The guest speaker was Dr. Komolafe, Oluwasayo Ayodeji, from the Department of Psychiatry, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba. His expertise and insight provided valuable information and sparked interesting discussions among the participants. In his presentation, which proved to be beneficial to professionals, staff, and students, he said learning new abilities instilled a sense of accomplishment, improved confidence, and helped to overcome obstacles and attain goals. He further recommended that skills-based learning be integrated into all educational programs.

For the second year running, Secondary Schools were invited and participated in this year edition, this are: De Kings School, Ota, Tempo Secondary School, Ota and Sango-Ota High School, Ijoko-Ota.

Participants were taught the importance of combining academic learning with skill acquisition for holistic development. A hands-on session guided students in the making of rose flowers using needle and thread. This emphasized creativity, patience, and achievement.

At the end of the programme, participants were well enlightened on the intricacies of building mental alertness and a stable psychological persona to shoulder and withstand the rigours of academics and life challenges itself.
