BELLSTECH HOLDS 21STMATRICULATION

– VC warns new students against vices

Bells University of Technology, Ota, on Saturday, 17 January, 2026, held its 21stMatriculation Ceremony for new students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jeremiah O. Ojediran, RE (COREN) FNSE, FNIAE, IION, presided at the ceremony, which had all the principal officers, deans, and directors with members of the University Senate in full attendance. A total of 1900 students took the matriculation oath administered by the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa.

In his matriculation speech, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the incoming students, introducing them to the institution’s values, expectations, and resources available to support their academic journey.  He further admonished them to eschew all forms of vices—drug abuse, cyberbullying, or physical assault.  “The university has zero tolerance for these and any others, with appropriate sanctions awaiting any offender,” he warned them.

The Vice-Chancellor urged the students to obey the rules and regulations to prevent them from getting into trouble. He further enjoined them to make use of their time while in school so as to impact positively on the larger society. He reiterated BellsTech’s resolveto ensure that the students get the very best of education, learning and acquisitions of necessary skills that would make them top graduates that are relevant in the society.

The hall was filled to capacity with the audience comprising students from the five colleges, university functionaries and invited guests and members of the Bells University Parents Forum.
