SDG 1: No Poverty Annual Report of 2023/2024

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) activities documentation officially commenced in the University on 28th August, 2023 following the Vice Chancellor’s approval of the SDG Team leads. This approval was preceded by several seminars and enlightenment programmes on SDGs related topics as well as on the modality for the then Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. Facilitators with and outside the country were employed to enlighten staff and students on the importance of the Goals at the global level and how individuals can contribute to actualization of the 17 UN SDGs. SDG 2: Zero Hunger Annual Report of 2023/2024

The SDGs activities officially commenced n Bells University of Technology, Ota by the Vice Chancellor’s approval of the SDG Team leads on 28th August, 2023. Many of the academic and non-academic staff were grouped into all the 17 SDGs with the exception of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and strong Institutions) based on their areas of research interest and specializations. SDG 4: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL

The maiden meeting of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (Quality Education) of Bells University of Technology was held on 22nd September, 2023. The team Lead, Dr Sola Owolabi, ensured that the initial monthly meetings were judiciously employed to educate and update the members on the main focus of quality education some of which include the principle of equality, equity, inclusivity and lifelong learning, good quality as well as good quality and quantity of teachers, school infrastructure, digital transformation, high cost of education and free education. SDG 13 (Climate Action)

The maiden meeting of the members of the SDG 13 (Climate Action) team was held I 28th September, 2023. The team lead, Dr Folasade Ogunleye, with her members, developed strategic plans for the Climate Action activities of the University to achieve the 13th sustainable development goal of the United Nations. Monthly meetings either onsite or virtual were held in the year under review and many climate related activities and programme were carried out. Enlightenment were also provided on several aspect of the goal such as climate change mitigation (e.g., reducing emissions), adaptation strategies (e.g., building climate resilience), climate finance, Education on climate issues (e.g., awareness campaigns) and Disaster risk reduction. SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) 2023-2024 Report

Although the University has been involved in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) activities for years, official documentation of the 17 United Nations SDGs commenced on 28th August, 2023, following the Vice Chancellor’s approval of the SDG Team leads.

Partnerships in Bells University of Technology, Ota

The University employs strategic partnership as part of its efforts toward realising is vision. Following series of enlightenment seminars and symposia, SDG team leads were produced to drive sustainable development in all relevant sectors of the university vision, encouraging partnership at both local and international scopes.
