VICE-CHANCELLOR INAUGURATES COLLEGE ADVISORY BOARD FOR COLNAS

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, RE (COREN) MNSE, has inaugurated the College Advisory Board for the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS). The inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday, 25th August, 2021 at the University Board Room.

The College Advisory Board is an innovative Committee instituted by Bellstech as a Town & Gown panel that seeks the expertise and connections of members in piloting and improving educational service delivery to the students. It comprises internal and external members who are gurus in their fields of human endeavours. The members include:

The Terms of Reference for the Board include among others that the Board acts as ‘’Friends’’ of the College to ensure the adequacy and and excellence of facilities. They are also to assist through positive means in the execution of projects which may be beyond the budget of the University.

Also they are to contribute to academic and professional programmes and resources on different components of the University.

They are entrusted with the mandate of partnering with the University in the provision of special scholarships, fellowship in programs and endowment of special professional positions.  The Board is to assist the Dean on academic, professional and general issues within the ambit of the College.

They also partner in the procurement of additional educational facilities/infrastructural resources for the improvement of teaching and academic services and other professional programmes of the College.

The Vice Chancellor in his speech implored members of the Board to ‘ bring their wealth of experience to bear in this task of charting a path of excellence for the College. He reiterated that he is without any doubt of the capabilities of the members given their caliber, both in academia and industry.

The host, Dr. A. Omoike in his closing address, stated that he was sure the Board would be of immense benefit to the University. He said he looked forward to working with the members of the Board in raising the standard of the College.
