An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified graduate to deliver a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Distrifoods Nigeria in partnership with Bells University of Technology and the University of Hertfordshire, UK. This position is a 24-months fixed term, full-time contract.
The Project:
This Project will boost Food & Nutrition Security by increasing the affordability and availability of safe foods in the traditional markets. It will employ Food Processing techniques to increase and retain the nutrition offerings of safe foods, reducing food loss, and enhancing access to micronutrients dense Snack Foods, in safer affordable, shelf stable units to Low Income Households, (LIHs) in Nigeria.
The Role:
The Associate will be required to lead the development of new strategies regarding the project within the company involving:
- New fortified multigrain snack bar, peanut, pap and swallow products providing healthier options for low-income households, better maternal outcomes and greater food security.
- Supply chain efficiencies which will reduce costs and waste and increase production outputs and visibility.
- Enhanced image and presence in the Nigerian food and nutrition market and expand into neighbouring regions and countries.
- Economic and social impacts through supporting supply chain businesses, stabilizing their income.
Qualification: Good first degree in Food Technology/ Nutrition and Dietetics
Previous work experience: Professional experience of working in food manufacturing and understanding of ICT systems, social media, and web design.
The Associate will also interact with different team members of the project to ensure efficient knowledge exchange. Alongside these tasks, the Associate will need to be motivated to apply necessary skill-set in a business setting by demonstrating the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with people at all levels internally and externally, ie the stakeholders of the project. Therefore, the Associate will need to be well organised, with the ability to manage and plan the related project workload.
