Chairman, Board of Trustee, Rev. (Dr.) Wilson Badejo Passes on to Glory.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees (B.O.T), Bells University of Technology, Ota, Rev. Dr. Wilson Adegbogun Badejo, has answered the final call to glory on Saturday, 7th of August, 2021. Aged 74 years; he was born on the 19th of May, 1947.

Rev. Badejo was an alumnus of the University of Ibadan where he studied Veterinary Medicine. He also obtained a post graduate degree in Management from the University of Connecticut, Starr, United States. He spent his service year as a resident doctor in Obudu cattle Ranch, the Agric. Development Corporation. He later got employed as a Research Officer in the National Veterinary Research Institute, Jos. He had a meritorious career in the Federal Civil Service before he joined the Foursquare Church.

Dr. Badejo was a long-standing pillar of support and mentorship for Bellstech having been involved in the Bellstech project from inception. He was a member of the Governing Council from June, 2010 till July, 2018. He assumed the headship role of the apex board in Bellstech, the Board of Trustees, in 2019.

In a statement by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jeremiah O. Ojediran, he said ‘the passing of this foremost guiding pillar of wisdom here in Bellstech will leave a big vacuum in the annals of our community and his wise counsel will be sorely missed.

He was a former General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church and he brought his deep spiritual essence as a man of God to give the University the needed spiritual direction, counselling and valuable guidance. He was a great achiever, an accomplished servant of God, a role model, a bridge builder, mentor, teacher par excellence, an apostle and respected family man.

Rev. Badejo served the Foursquare Gospel Church in various areas and assignments until 1999 when he was selected to take over from Rev. G.O. Farounbi to become the new General Overseer of the Foursquare Church of Nigeria. He held the role for three unprecedented, consecutive terms. This showed how much he was loved and treasured by the Church.

He was the Chairman and Founder of The Wilson Badejo Foundation (WBF) which is a non-profitable, non-governmental and non-religious foundation. The foundation seeks to bring succour to the hopeless and less privileged of the society; also gives annual award of scholarship to indigent students.

He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
