FIRST LADY OF NAMIBIA VISITS BELLSTECH

The Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology yesterday received a distinguished delegation on a courtesy visit, Ms. Monica Geingos, former First Lady of Namibia; the team also included Mr. Walde Ndevashiva, the High Commissioner of Namibia to Nigeria, Professor H. Katjavivi, and Andrea Wasman

Ms. Monica Geingos, wife of the late Namibian President Hage Gottfried Geingos, is currently the Chancellor at Kepler College in Kigali, Rwanda. She was the president of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development. A lawyer by profession, the former First Lady of Namibia, has a distinguished track record of advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs) at both national and global levels. She is the founder of the One Economy Foundation.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on education, leadership, international collaboration, and areas of mutual interest between Namibia and Nigeria. 

The vice-chancellor, Professor Jeremiah O. Ojediran, while welcoming the distinguished guests, highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering global partnerships that promote academic excellence, innovation, and cultural exchange.

The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of strengthening ties between African institutions and advancing opportunities for collaborative development across the continent.
