NDLEA AREA COMMAND PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO BELLSTECH

The new Commander, Ota NDLEA Area command, Mr. Famwang Garba on Thursday, 8th February, 2024 led members of his command on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, R.E. (COREN), FNSE, FNIAE, in his office.

On hand to receive the NDLEA team with the Vice-Chancellor were other members of Management, the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa, the Bursar, Mr. Sina Adepoju and the University Librarian, Dr. Felicia Yusuf.  Also present were the presidents of BUSA ANIMASHAUN Tobi Ridwan and the President of the Drug Free Club (DFC) Elvina Ighoraye along with members of their executive committee.

 

The Vice-Chancellor welcomed the team and stated the University’s hard stance to drug abuse and its eradication.  He affirmed that the University screens all incoming students thereby keeping the campus drug free.  He further asserts that “random and unscheduled tests are also conduct on any students displaying any suspicious behavior” 

In his response, the new Area Commander commended the management of the University for their Commitment to wipe the menace. He said, his immediate predecessor had revealed to him that Bellstech remains a steadfast institution in the battle against drug abuse.  He further revealed that only Bellstech and the University of Abuja are the 2 institutions that screens incoming students as part of their registration.

In conclusion it was resolved to keep the ties between the university strong and working to continue the effort of eradicating drug use and drug abuse by the youth.
