Bells University of Technology’s football team has successfully passed the elimination stage of a world stage tourney organized by Red Bull & the Neymar Junior Worldwide that takes them to the next round of the event.
The five-a-side football tournament of Brazil wonder star and sponsored by Red Bull, had its elimination series decided on June 16th at the Bells University stadium. At the tourney, the University’s five-a-side team was among the other 28 teams that participated in the tournament.
Amid other fine football teams and the almighty All-Stars Club in Ota Zone, it was mind-blowing as the tourney ended with Bells University five-a-side team winning the Ota zone series.
Therefore, the victory qualifies our team for the Lagos tournament that will be used to pick the team that will represent the country in Brazil. The Lagos tourney would feature the best teams from different zones across the country.
The Nigerian representative will have the opportunity to play with five-a-side of other Countries and the Neymar Junior Team.
The team has received a big kudos from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jeremiah O. Ojediran, RE (COREN) MNSE . In his congratulatory message to the team, The Vice-Chancellor said the team has made the University proud by their victory and subsequent qualification to the next stage. He said the team is on a path to put the Bellstech name on the world map of University sports.
