The 9th Annual Lecture of the Registry Department, Bells University of Technology, Ota, was held at the expansive BUPF International Conference Centre. The date was Wednesday, 25th June, 2025. This year’s lecture, titled “Vision, Management, and Compromise: Elixir for a Successful University Administrator,” was delivered by Prof. Omolola Oladunni Irinoye, the vice-chancellor of Achievers University, Owolabi, Ondo State. The packed audience at the lecture was treated to insightful and enlightening perspectives on the tripod of vision, management, and compromise as the bedrock of an administrator’s repertoire.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jeremiah O. Ojediran, R.E. (COREN), FNSE, FNAIE, IION, in his goodwill message, said the lecture was aptly titled and remains a very important issue that must be noted and held as reference points by administrators. He emphasized that the registry is the custodian of all university processes, laws, and policies and remains the nerve center of the university system as it performs the role of guiding staff and management in running an optimal system.
He further appreciated the guest lecturer for finding time out of her tight schedule to personally come and deliver the lecture.
The registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa, stated that this year’s lecture topic is particularly germane to effective university administration. He added that the guest lecturer is specially suited to educate and enlighten all present, being a seasoned university administrator herself, and will certainly do justice to it.
The guest lecturer thereafter took the attentive audience on the enlightenment trip in its simple steps. From She dissected the topic and espoused what the administrator has to be aware of in core principles and ethics. From identifying his or her vision, which must align with the institution’s, to the management of tasks and issues, on to the compromises needed to perform his job within the ethical framework of the job space, she held all spell bound as she made cogent points with real-life examples.
The capacity audience paid attention and made copious notes of the array of strategies highlighted for their administrative tasks and benefits.
