BELLSTECH HOLDS THE 7TH ANNUAL BUPF SEMINAR

It was a whole house of academics, students, staff, and other dignitaries as the 7th Annual BUPF Seminar titled “Youth and Entrepreneurial Mindset: Being Self Sustained” held at the Event Marquee of Bells University of Technology, Ota, (BELLSTECH) on Wednesday 02 June 2021.

The Seminar was organized by the Bells University Parents Forum (BUPF)as part of its stakeholder’s input towards the education and enlightenment of their wards to be self-sufficient in this ever-changing world.

The event started with the speech by the BUPF Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Dosunmu, who began by welcoming the staff, students, and guests to the event. He stated that the primary objective of the BUPF is to foster a cordial relationship between the parents/guardians and the University Management and support the University/Students in providing a conducive environment for learning.

This was followed by the Opening Address by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jeremiah Ojediran, RE (COREN) MNSE. In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor also welcomed everyone to the event; he went further to reiterate that the yearly Seminar was conceived to address germane issues to the education sector, the society at large, and the well-being of the youths. He further expressed his admiration for the Guest Speakers and charged everyone to make the most of this opportunity.

The lectures were well thought, motivational, and inspiring as the first speaker, Miss Greatness Olorunfemi, a Management professional, live Coach, inspirational and transformational speaker, author, and Digital Moderator. She is also the founder and president of Greatness Unleashed by Love Foundation, which is a non-Profit Organization.

In her speech, she stated that everything we use came from an entrepreneurial mindset. She noted that the youths are the majority of our population in Nigeria, and despite this, they are at the receiving end of the effect of bad governance and the increasing rate of unemployment. That’s why she advised that youths should grab hold of entrepreneurial ideas to create problem-solving jobs to move the country forward. She concluded by saying the Entrepreneurial mindset is essential to thrive and be self-sufficient because we live in an Entrepreneurial world.

Dr. Stephen Oluwatobi is the second guest speaker, Founder of Edustart Global Foundation, and CEO of the Pertinence Group with a decade of experience in business entrepreneurship education. He also gave a detailed and informative speech to boost imagery. “Entrepreneurship begins in the mind” was his opening remark. He said Entrepreneurs take challenges as raw materials to create prosperity, build a track record and become superstars. He advised that; finding yourself requires Mastering the Entrepreneurial mind to create Prosperity and Leveraging on opportunities.

In his conclusion, he advised that we should think introspectively on these self-examining questions;
What do you want to achieve, why do you want to achieve it, how do you want to achieve it, who do you need to achieve it, and when do you want to achieve it?

He encouraged the students to value and make the most of their youthfulness by investing in entrepreneurial decisions that they would benefit from years after.

Also in attendance at the Seminar titled “Youth and Entrepreneurial Mindset” were other members of Management, Principal Officers, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubukola Kuforiji, the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa, the University Librarian, Dr. Felicia Yusuf, the Bursar, Mr. Sina Adepoju, BUPF Chairman Mr. Rotimi Dosunmu, other members of staff, Parents, distinguished guests, and the student’s body.
It was a highly insightful and enlightening experience.
