A three day training on the use and application of Kortext Educational Solutions, was held between Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th January, 2024. The venue was the BUPF International Conference Centre on the University campus. The training aimed to expose the academic staff to the efficacy and technical know-how of the world acclaimed interactive teaching/learning platform. While the students, who are the beneficiaries of the scheme, were trained on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 the Lecturers attended on Wednesday.
The training was conducted by the Country Representative of Kortext, Mr. Adeolu Adenuga. He took the audience on the advantages and peculiarities of the platform which according to him is the future of knowledge impartation and students learning. He affirms that over 1000 universities in more than 100 countries are using the platform. The Kortext affords Lecturers the advantage of interacting with students virtual and in real time. It also enables the Lecturers monitor the learning progress of all students through the inter connectivity of the platform. From the tutor’s tablet he can interact and monitor their learning progress. Pre-loaded textbooks and resource materials are also utilized to give the students the advantage to pre-study and acquire upwards of 30-40 titles by the end of their educational sojourn in Bellstech.
The training was well attended by the students on the first and second days, and by faculty on the third day with the Vice-Chancellor personally attending and declaring it open. Also in attendance were members of Management including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Akunnaya Opoko, the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Tafa and the Bursar, Mr. Sina Adepoju. Also in attendance were the Deans of all the Colleges and the Postgraduate school with other Directors and Heads of others academic Units and the Host, the University Librarian, Dr. Felicia Yusuf, who gave the welcome address.
The concluding part of the training is scheduled to hold soon. This will be conducted by Kortext International staff from the United Kingdom.
